Stayed at the Universal Hotel for 2weeks half board in a side sea view superior room. Hot and cold breakfast and buffet style dinner, which we considered a really good idea. Food was delicious and varied.The staff led by manager Erik were really friendly, nothing too much trouble. We left feeling that we had made many friends. We spent most of our time on the beach, just 2 minutes from the hotel but we also spent time around the pool located on the roof, comfy sunbeds and facilities available. Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return

I have been staying at this Hotel since I was child. Last year we returned as a family of five, having driven from the U.K. Secure parking is available upon arrival. The staff are welcoming and genuine in their service and so is the management team. The Hotel has a clean pool on the roof with sun beds for those who do not want to frequent the beach. Alternatively, there is the Altamarea Beach village a short walk away from the Hotel. The beach is well kept and has all amentities which one could possibly wish for, from a hydro-massage pool, gym or even children's entertainment club should you so wish. The Hotel has a lovely family friendly restaurant offering plenty of choice. Ideally there is also a family kitchen available for those parents choosing to prepare their own food for babies. The room are spotless and the location ideal. Huge thanks to Catia and her staff for a wonderful holiday.

Un luogo incantevole, con disponibilità del personale impeccabile, cucina di prim'ordine e camere spaziose e silenziose.Da molti anni frequentiamo la Romagna,mai e poi mai in nessun' altro hotel da noi frequentato in Cattolica abbiamo trovato simpatia ,gentilezza,disponibilità come qui da Catia e il suo staff.Siamo stati coccolati dal primo all'ultimo istante ed è stupefacente come la cosa si ripeti .Da provare per credere.Ciao Catia a presto.

We visited the hotel in August for 2 weeks and from arrival to departure we were thoroughly impressed by the place.The staff were a credit to themselves and the business and nothing was too much trouble for them.indeed they would go out of their way to help. The hotel was a 3 star but 4 would surely be more appropriate in our opinion. Everything we needed from the restaurant at the bottom to the pool on the roof was superb.The room was kept clean and tidy every day to a high standard,the bed was very comfortable and we slept well every night.The only slight down point was there could maybe be a few more sockets for electrical charging etc..but it was not a real problem. The breakfast was good and ample with a good choice of items.We only booked for bed and breakfast but on a couple of occasions we did dine in the restaurant and i must compliment them on a superb selection of local dishes cooked to perfection..we were really impressed. Really,if you are visiting the lovely town of cattolica this would be our recommendation of the place to stay.close(but not TOO close) to the beach/sea and surrounded by lovely little bars shops and restaurants. We booked this trip long before the pandemic, flight with BA and the hotel direct. Months later we didn’t think the trip nor Moto event would happen but surprisingly it did! Due to flight cancellations we liaised with the hotel regularly, mainly Valentina who totally understood our situation. On arrival we were welcomed by Francesca, she was busy with other guests but still greeted us warmly and offered us a refreshment. We spoke with the Manager (also helpful ) who recommended a place for dinner close to the hotel, the ‘Holiday’ restaurant, good service and decent food. The following morning we met Valentina who we had communicated with by email prior to our arrival, she was as helpful in person as she was by email. All our questions were answered, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast staff were excellent, so enthusiastic, welcomed everyone and explained the process of the breakfast service. Only the staff would touch the food and coffee machine, you told them what you wanted, they gave it to you. Every morning we had a laugh with them, they are a really good team. The only disappointment during our stay was the hotel ended its season and could not accommodate our final night in Cattolica. We opted for a higher rated hotel which unfortunately was not a patch on Hotel Universal. I would definitely recommend Hotel Universal, it may be 3 star but the staff provide 5 star service

We hade a really nice stay at the Universal Hotel, Cattolica. Cattolica generally is a very pleasant little town that provides what’s needed for a summer stay at the beach. Universal hotel especially offered good rooms, our hade a stunning view over the seaside, reaching all the way to Rimini, and varying and tasty food. At the end of the day, what we appreciated the most was how well we where treated by the staff at the hotel. Perfect service, not too intrusively, not to little, and at the right time. Next time we go to Cattolica we sure will stay at Universal hotel again. If you are planning a trip to this town, the Universal hotel is the best of choice.
